Spring 2016

Course Description
This course will provide students with an understanding of what a career as a sports agent/attorney for a professional athlete entails. The class will start with the problems an agent/attorney confronts when helping an athlete “go pro.” This will be a guided walkthrough of how a student-athlete can maintain his or her eligibility under the NCAA Bylaws, the ongoing legal challenges facing the NCAA and the perspectives of industry experts on both sides of the issues.

Short Course Attendance Policy
Due to the small number of meetings, attendance to all meetings/classes for short courses is mandatory. Students who miss more than one class session (80 minute) of a 1-credit short course are subject to administrative withdrawal and will have a W for the course on their transcripts.
