LAW854  AS  ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE CLINIC PRACTICUM I

Course Description
Descript - This Practicum will apply both litigation and non-litigation advocacy strategies, including "cause" lawyering, community organizing, direct service, impact and test case litigation, and law reform and policy making in legislative, administrative, and judicial contexts. We will apply these advocacy strategies through community-based rights education and policy research projects in partnership with the Coconut Grove Ministerial Alliance of Black Churches and other nonprofit groups in the West Grove and in low-income communities of color in Coral Gables, Miami, and Miami-Dade County. The projects will focus on antipoverty, civil rights, social enterprise, and environmental justice research and education.
