Spring 2016
LAW706  AW  EVIDENTIARY THEORY WORKSHOP

Course Description
Students in this course will undertake guided research into a specific area of evidentiary law and theory. The research will be historical and comparative, tracing the evolution of the Federal Rules of Evidence and the Confrontation and Compulsory Process Clauses as well as comparing those provisions to the law in other foreign and domestic common-law jurisdictions. Students will produce by semester’s end a substantial writing project on an area of focus. This is a graded, writing-credit workshop open to 3L students only. The regular Evidence course is a pre- or co-requisite. Students in this course may be required to audit Evidence on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:20p, so that time period should be kept free. This workshop will meet immediately after Evidence on Thursdays for about an hour (or at an alternate time agreed upon unanimously by the group).

Registration is by the permission of the professor because enrollment is limited. To apply, email a resume to aarguello@law.miami.edu before or during the first three days of upper-level course registration.
