Course Description
The Externship Program encompasses the required field work hours at an approved externship placement AND the successful completion of the academic course, which encompasses a mandatory orientation along with a total of 5 component course lectures throughout the spring 2016 semester.
In addition to the mandatory orientation session scheduled for January 15, 2016, from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm on the Miami Law campus, externs will be provided a menu of component course lectures divided into three (3) categories. Externs will be assigned to one (1) lecture in Category 1: Introduction to Practice and to one (1) lecture in Category 3: Final Reflection. Externs will be given the option to choose three (3) lectures from a list of available lectures from Category 2: Tools for Practice.
The component course lectures may be offered at one of the following days and times:
• Mondays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on the Miami Law campus.
• Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on the Miami Law campus.
• Thursdays from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm on the Miami Law campus.
• Fridays from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm on the Miami Law campus and/or James Lawrence King Federal Justice Building
Comprehensive information about the academic course will be provided during the mandatory orientation scheduled for January 15, 2016 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm on the Miami Law campus.
