Course Description
The objective of this course is to assist students in their preparation for the Florida section (Part A) of Florida Bar Exam. Professor Schimel will introduce and review rules for commonly tested subjects. Students will write actual essays that appeared on recent administrations of the bar exam, and receive detailed individual feedback. Students will also participate in simulated multiple choice assessments. Subjects include the Florida-specific distinctions for Contracts, Real Property, Family Law, Dependency, Florida Constitutional Law, Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure, Wills, Corporations, and Partnerships. This course will not overlap with or repeat content from your post-graduation commercial bar course, and you will receive exclusive study materials and outlines, not available elsewhere. This is a 2-credit pass/fail course. This course is only open to third year law students, in their final semester. The required textbook costs approximately $150. Details will be provided to students who enroll. This course has two sections: Section A will take place on Tuesdays 5:30pm-7:20pm Section B will be Wednesdays 5:30pm-7:20pm. Students who wish to audit this course for 0 credit can register for either section A-AU or B-AU. Auditors are required to meet the attendance standards, submit all essays, and take the midterm exam. Auditors are not required to take the final exam.
