LAW154  A  CORPORATE COMPLIANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT

Course Description
This is an introduction to the growing Corporate Compliance segment of the legal industry. Cases, Statutes, Non-Prosecution and Deferred-Prosecution Agreements comprise the bulk of the reading, introducing students to various legal regimes, such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the Bank Secrecy Act . Compliance and risk management are crucial means for improving business ethics, enhancing the observation of legal norms, and deterring firms from engaging in unsafe or unsound practices, and, not least, jobs in these areas are booming.
