Course Description
This is a survey course that introduces the issues that arise in Family law practice and examines major constitutional cases involving family law. Topics include regulation of marriage; legal treatment of couples in marital and non-marital relationships; divorce; alimony and property distribution; custody, visitation and child support; alternative dispute resolution; and adoption. The course will cover general principles, as well as Florida law. There will be at least one in-class simulation exercise.
