Spring 2019
LAW606  AW  SELECT TOPICS IN ART AND MUSEUM LAW SEMINAR

Course Description
This seminar will study in depth one or two selected topics of current interest in the fields of art or museum law. Topics may include the legal status of graffiti art; the public trust obligations of charitable, tax-exempt museums; and museum mergers, reorganizations, and dissolutions. Preferably students will have already taken an introductory course in art law or museum law. Students will be expected to write a scholarly research paper of sufficient quality and length to meet the school’s writing requirement and to discuss the results of that research in an in-seminar presentation. The seminar is limited to twelve students and meets in one, 2-hour class each week throughout the semester.
