Fall 2019
LAW406  BP  PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Course Description
All students must take one course relating to the legal profession or professional responsibility to graduate. Professional Responsibility will satisfy this graduation requirement. The course can also be one of the most important and thought-provoking experiences of your law school career. We will explore Professional Responsibility from the perspective of the individual choices that we confront as lawyers in our careers and in our lives. You will face these choices throughout your life as a lawyer, and this course aims to provide you with tools for choosing wisely. We will also examine the legal profession and professional regulation and its impact on society. Our textbook addresses these issues in a wide range of practice settings and includes many discussion problems. You will gain a basic introduction to the Model Rules of Professional Conduct. This course will also encourage you to think critically about these rules and their impact on individual lawyers and the delivery of legal services. The class hours are compressed in order to enable you to be prepared to take the MPRE exam.
