Spring 2020
LAW268  R  SOCIAL JUSTICE LAWYERING

Course Description
This course explores the role of lawyers in work for social change and, secondarily, the experience of legal education. We will study the development of legal claims, the issues that arise when lawyers work with community organizations, and the role of lawyers in issue campaigns and in policy development. The course is a foundational course for the Social Justice concentration, but is open to all interested students. We examine critically whether and how legal education prepares and inspires students to engage in social justice work.
