Course Description
|
This survey course is intended to cover the basic substantive issues that arise in Family law practice. These include entry into marriage; legal treatment of couples in marital and nonmarital relationships; divorce matters, including alimony and property distribution, the role of the attorney; custody and child support, child abuse and neglect; dependency, foster care and adoption. An in-class mock negotiation of a divorce settlement is required. A Family Court Observation is also required.
