Spring 2021
LAW213  A  ENVIRONMENTAL LAW

Course Description
This introductory course introduces main concepts of environmental protection, along with administrative law and judicial review in the environmental arena. After considering the major constitutional hurdles in regulation of environmental law (with a focus on justiciability doctrines and environmental justice), we will examine major federal environmental statutes including the National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and hazardous waste laws. We will investigate both the emergence of environmental regulation in these areas and the newly evolving remedies for the control of pollution and prevention of environmental degradation.
