Additional Materials:
Do not download the versions available on that site, though; there are several versions. Professor Sawicki is mixing and matching to create his own. He will post the casebook to the course page before class starts.
First Class Assignment(s):
  • Assignment: 1) Please listen to the podcast episode "Planet Money: The Island No One Owns." You can find a link to the transcript and audio here: https://www.npr.org/transcripts/801645818. If you have any trouble accessing it, please do not hesitate to contact me or my assistant, Veronica Carballo. 2) What is your favorite thing that you own? Least favorite? Why are they your favorite and least favorite? How did you come to own them? Please be prepared to discuss your answers to these questions in our first meeting.

    Material:
    There is no reading for our first class. The casebook for our course will be a remixed version of Open Source Property. Although you can access the book online (https://opensourceproperty.org/), I do not recommend that you do so because I have changed the order of the materials, omitted some, and modified others. I will distribute portions of the casebook in PDF format through our Blackboard page as the course progresses. You do not need to do anything at the moment with respect to the casebook.
