Course Description
Although first-year courses typically focus on the common law, most legal issues are addressed by statutes. This course introduces students to the world of statutory law. Drawing upon political science literature, it concentrates on how courts interpret statutes. Additional topics include the law of the legislative process, legislative drafting, and the relationship of common and statutory law.
