LAW622  R  AMERICAN LEGAL HISTORY SEMINAR

Course Description
The seminar will focus on a range of topics and themes in the legal history of modern America. Readings will be drawn from monographs and articles, as well as from cases, and we will add or subtract topics based on student interest. Topics will include: imperialism, civil rights and race, capital and labor, gender/marriage/family, immigration and citizenship, religion, and legal thought. Students will be required to make individual presentations in class, to participate in class discussion, and to write three review essays.
