  • Assignment: Welcome! This class has no required texts to purchase. All the readings are available in PDF format on our Blackboard page, or you may purchase a print out of the readings from the Law School Copy Center (2nd floor of the library, past the microfiche section). Each week, we will have a short introduction video which you should watch before reading that week's chapter. We will move a pretty steady pace of one chapter per week. Following class, there will be some online assignments and assessments for you to complete. All of the materials--video, reading, assignments, assessments--can be found on the Blackboard page (courses.miami.edu). For our first class, please watch the video introduction and read the attached case of Hawkins v. McGee. The Blackboard page will go "live" later this week; but in the meanwhile, the reading is attached here. **Update: the Blackboard page is now visible. There are a couple of online assignments for our first class, in addition to the readings: a short exercise on Hawkins v. McGee and a little get-to-know-you video exercise. You will also find the syllabus and other materials all there.***
