Course Description
Basic introduction to the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), primarily focused on secured transactions (Article 9). Subjects may also include selected topics in: sales (some Article 2 concepts not usually covered in contracts); negotiable instruments (notes & drafts, including checks, Article 3); letters of credit (as security or payment, Article 5); and documents of title (warehouse receipts & bills of lading, Article 7).

Method of Evaluation: Completed assignments and final examination (if feasible at UM Law in person). If you satisfactory complete the assignments on time, and take the final exam, you will pass the course. Grade curve generally adjusted to fit entering grade profile of class, so students are neither advantaged nor disadvantaged by presence of other students.
