Course Description
This course will focus on the federal laws prohibiting discrimination in employment on the basis of race, sex (including sexual harassment and pregnancy), age, national origin (including language), disability, and other bases. It will consider issues from both the employee and the employer perspective, and will integrate theory with practice. The course will study evolving federal case law, particularly Supreme Court decisions, discussing what discrimination is and how it is proven. The course will also explore remedies, including affirmative action and the awarding of attorney's fees.
